I'm about ready to give up!!

2008 has been rough, here we are, 4 days into the year, and I haven't sold a thing. When is it going to change? I thought by now the market would be on the rebound and there would be buyers and sellers knocking on my door to help them with their real estate needs.

The housing prices are good, the economy is strong, the unemployment rate is low, the stock market is high, the Super Bowl is coming to town. I just don't get it...I thought for sure...now what? Okay Vin, don't panic, stay calm, take a deep breath. After all, it's not as if it's been a whole week, maybe things can still change.

Okay so things aren't going as planned, let's go back and review my goals to date for 2008:

January 1st- Sell a home.

January 2nd- Review my goals to date.

January 3rd- Sell another home.

January 4th- Review my goals to date.

Wow! I feel really, really stupid, I don't know why I was getting so worked up, I've acheived half my goals.

Funny!  Yeah, you have acheived half your goals.  I think by Sunday you'll hit the jackpot and make up for your 2 slow days.

Vinnie, Goals are good as long as you don't take them too seriously.  ;)  Keep up the goodwork, setting them high makes you work harder.. so I'm told.  :)

Vinnie, I think you need more ambitious goals.  Jan 1st -- sell $1M home; Jan 2nd -- sell $2M home; Jan 3rd -- sell $4M home; Jan 4th -- sell $5M home; Jan 5th-Dec 31st -- relax on Caribbean Beach.

Well, I am glad that you achieved half your goals. What is your other half?  Have a GR8 '08!  8-)

Lupe- Yeah, Feng Shui, I'll have to try that, it can't hurt.

Cheryl- Thanks for directing me to the correct website.

Rob- Well at least you tried. Fail forward, my boy, fail forward.

Gail- Setting any goals is a good start, but setting them high just may get you somewhere.

Brian- Sure, easy for you to say, you live in an area where a home is worth a million bucks as long as it has a garage. In Phoenix million dollar homes don't just grow on palm trees. Seriously, hope all is well in NOVA, I used to live there, it's a beautiful area.

Michael- What's my other half? Well, reviewing my goals silly. You have a great 08 too.

I called a FSBO once...they didn't answer...should I have tried once more..If no other agents sign isn't on the yard by Jan 31st, then I will call again...I heard we must be persistant

01/11/2008 06:33 AM by Mike Norvell Sr., Developers Capital Realty (Developers Capital Realty, LLC)

Matthew- For as many times as I've failed. I should be a billionaire by now.

Judy- Plan to fail and your dreams will come true.

Mike- We must be persistant with those FSBOs, especially when they go to all the trouble of building a professional looking sign and post, and price their home $100K over market value. That is a cry for help.
