Yesterday was the solar eclipse. I have to admit it was really impressive to see! It was my first attempt at photographing the sun. We made a filter out of mylar to be able to actually see the eclipse to take the pictures. We couldn’t get away from the solar flares, but you can see it was still pretty cool!
It sort looked like a large bright eyeball!

Beautiful! We did not get to see it here in Florida, so thanks for sharing! The news report said the West Coast was going to have the best views in our country. Now I see what they meant!

Wow. The eclipse was so different around the country. Texas seems to have had one of the most beautiful , but this is one is also great.

What is so interesting is that the size of the moon in your shot seems a tad smaller than in other pictures. I'm wondering if it is because of your location? You're right, it's pretty cool stuff!

I am so glad you took that shot. It looks like a giant life saver to me with a halo around it. I'll be it was a thrilling sight! I got a good look at it but I didn't take any photos. The sun set was pretty amazing during this time frame too!
