So....in my quest for getting healthy.....I'm trying to figure out a way to still have my Starbucks without having to cut out a meal or work out for an hour+ just to compensate for the calories. I thought I would share what I learned. A Venti White Mocha (my fav) with all the fixins is CRAZY! Yeah.....we're talkin' TWO meals worth of sugar and fat!!
So...I'm breaking it down. Each pump of Vanilla syrup is 20 calories. Mocha syrup is 25 calories and slightly under a gram of fat. Toffee Nut is 70 calories per ounce, and apparently a pump is about .25 ounce....so only 17.5 calories per pump! Woohoo! I love Toffee Nut! Each pump of Pumpkin Spice syrup is about 33 calories, and a bit over a gram of fat. Each pump of craving inducing delectable White Mocha (are you ready for this?) is 53 whopping calories (and slightly over a gram of fat), so be careful! White Mocha is my absolute favorite...and now I know why :-(.
What about sugar free syrups? If you can stand the after taste, be my guest. I would rather have a little of the real thing....unfortunately, I can't!
So...my new plan: 2 shots of espresso, 1 shot of delicious white mocha, 3 shots of toffee nut, and one cup of 60 calorie almond milk. NO WHIP!! Total calories: 165.5 which is way less than HALF.
Starbucks does NOT offer Almond Milk, unfortunately, so I order it without milk and add the milk at home....which....by the way....saves over $2 on the drink!! Yes, they charge a LOT for milk!
Hey Starbucks! Get with it and start offering Almond Milk for the times when I am not able to head home. Those days I guess I'll go with Soy....but really? Soy is soooo 4 years ago.....not as good for you and 30 extra calories that I don't need!!
Can I relate this to real estate? Maybe later after my Espresso kicks in :-)
