Our May contest is nearing the end -- for those of you who haven’t checked it out yet (details here), the theme centers around technology that you use every day that you can’t live without.

I wanted to tell this story about Groupon, because even though they are outside of this industry, the way they use electronic signatures -- sending contracts to their clients -- is very similar to how agents and brokers send contracts as well, albeit on a large scale. One even was able to close deals and have them be automatically updated while he was away on vacation -- watch the video (link below) to learn more.

The Groupon sales team sends out 1,000+ contracts each day via EchoSign – it’s become a valuable solution that they rely on every day, multiple times a day.

Since Groupon’s business model is to offer up daily deals to all their subscribers, they need a single place to manage and send out contracts for signature that allows them to quickly and easily accomplish these tasks with minimal effort. I mentioned Salesforce.com in a previous post, and that’s how Groupon enables their sales team to close more deals.

How Groupon Uses EchoSign Electronic Signatures

Chris Bland, Finance Manage, North American Operations at Groupon, spoke about their use of EchoSign at a recent Salesforce event. The main benefit for their sales team was around the ease-of-use of the product.

In addition to the ease-of-use of EchoSign’s solution, the automated aspects were great as well – they no longer had to spend time manually updating information because EchoSign automatically changed the status of the contract and updated any new information into the contact database. The sales rep can move on to their next deal, knowing EchoSign is updating information in the background. Also, the automated email alerts served as friendly reminders to those who may have forgotten to sign the contract.

You can watch the highlights of Chris’s presentation here, and hear the story of how a sales rep closed 3 deals while he was on vacation. Also, don’t forget to enter our May contest for your chance to win one of 9 VISA gift cards.
