American Flag Planting in Pequannock Township for Memorial Day

Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 CREST REAL ESTATE NJ 8540230

AMERICAN FLAG “planting” is an annual event of Century 21 Crest Real Estate in Pompton Plains.  Each year our office purchases over 2000 American Flags that are placed along the 2.8 mile stretch of Newark Pompton Turnpike and Jackson Avenue in Pequannock Township.  Our Realtor agents, friends and family volunteer to walk and hand place the American Flags and will be doing this again on Thursday, May 24th.  This year, Boy Scout group 144 will also be assisting us in this event.

We started this tradition over 10 years ago when one of our agents, Colleen McMahon, observed a patriotic display of flags in a local Bergen County town.  She brought the idea to our Broker, Patricia Wojtyszyn, who immediately agreed that it was an excellent way for our office to participate in the Memorial Day events of Pequannock Township.  Pequannock township flag planting - photo by Colleen McMahon

This became a tradition that we purchase and place AMERICAN FLAGS the Thursday before Memorial Day so they will be in full display for the Pequannock Township Memorial Day Parade on the following monday.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday observed annually in the United States on the last Monday of May. It is a day to commemorate all Americans who have died in all wars and while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Century 21 Crest Real Estate is proud to honor the men and women who dedicate their lives to protect our country with this beautiful display of AMERICAN FLAGS that line Pequannock Township streets.
