You Want Points? I’ll Give You Points But First You Have to Answer Some Questions!

OK... Now that I have your attention ( I knew the Points angle would get it) let me ask you a question... Have you entered the FAQ Break Into Summer Organized Contest?

NO?

I frequently read posts on ActiveRain about points... how to get them....what milestone someone has reached.... how come they haven’t received them yet.... how important they are or aren’t.

Well one sure way to get points is to enter a contest! For the most part you can receive points for any contest you enter.

YES!!!

But wait... that’s not all! Before you say you don’t care about points or you have enough (seriously?), or it’s beneath you... think about this....

ActiveRain contests typically have a point to them.. Bob Stewart’s infamous local or long tail search posts for example.

Well Anna Banana has given us a contest that has 3000 points involved AND will give you 10 posts that you can link to as a FAQ resource for your clients. You will be the authority on the subject. It can be your eBook!!!

So I ask you one more time

Gary- I think this one is particularly useful... we're writing posts that we probably should be writing anyway.

Karen- no problem.. I don't enter every contest.

Peggy- Good.. that's a start. Choosing a topic is always the hardest part for me.

Scott- whoa.. I like that ... "you cannot wait for free time. you have to make time."

Sharon- you will... I know you will, AND they'll be just perfect.

Debbie- oh good, you'll love it and you will have written some good posts too!

Kathy: I always feel badly when I see another contest pop-up on AR. For me, the contests just don't make sense most times ... as I know I can't fulfill the obligations they call for in most cases. At this point, I have to pass. I keep hoping at some point in the future .......
