The cat is probably wondering “Did I ASK to be saved?”. There are so many possible outcomes for this scene, none of them however what these kids thought would be the end result.

How many days have YOU started out thinking there would be a purring and content kitty in your hands only to find yourself reeling, hurt and confused by someone else’s misinterpretation of your well intentioned actions?

These kids had better hope their parents aren’t watching!

This is one of the phenomenal bronze statues surrounding the Shakespeare Theater in Montgomery, Alabama.

Ed, the work the artist did on this is really amazing.  I almost had to rap my knuckles on it to know it wasn't real bark.

Hi Sheila, the landscape around the theater was dotted with all kinds of bronze statues.  The holiday was incredible.

Kwee, I don't know the story but there was another sculpture with the same children holding hands and running.  Glad you enjoyed them.

Roger, I ALWAYS want to know your answer!  I was hoping you'd be curious enough to do the research for me   ;~D

Mona, I had just the thing yesterday.. Hit me in the stomache like a ton of bricks.. A vender I spoke with TRYING to get some information for a client refused to answer my questions or even speak to me... he ended up hanging up on me and I realized AGAIN, that this website provider didn't care anything for the client.. they just wanted the money.. I was shaking and crying when I hung up because I just so upset.

Roger, I forgot...did you insist on leading?  lol cha cha cha

Belinda, you can't imagine the detail in the kids' faces either.  Gorgeous.

Suzanne, we should do an AR group to Montgomery for Shakespeare plays...it would be a hoot.

Tammy, give me their names and I'll go kick their asses.  What is the matter with the lack of manners and how dare they be mean to you.  That's just what I'm talking about though.  Sorry you had to go through that.

I like your take on the rest of the story in the sculpture. Perhaps this is why cats have nine lives. Humans tend to sideswiped by change and stuck in old habits. Suggested.

Ron, I just spent 15 minutes trying to google those statues and one cool thing is I found my own blog! but nothing about the statues.  I'll have to call them when I get a moment.  News at 11.

Jon, you are welcome.  I'll share whatever else I find out about them too.

Emily, thanks.  I just know that kid will either sustain some remarkable scratches from the cat or the fall.  I'm glad you like this.

I love that, Mona. So what happened in the end; did the kitty get saved? :)

Toni, I think the kitty was self reliant and saved herself.  I believe the children were called home for dinner and outside of a few scrapes from the bark managed to get down the tree mostly unharmed.  The cat stopped at the local cat bar and had a few extra nips to counteract the effects of the stressful day. lol
