Local San Marcos, California swimming pools open for free swimming this Saturday May 26, 2012.
Las Posas and Woodland Park pools will open for summer swim hours starting Saturday.
The pools, run by San Marcos Community Services, Parks & Recreation Department, provide swimming and water play facilities.
The pools are open for recreational swimming daily, between 1 and 5:30 p.m. on weekends, and Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., starting Saturday, May 26. Entry for open swim is $3 per person.
Las Posas pool, on 1387 Borden Road, features a recreation pool with attached wading area for younger children and the "Sprayground," an interactive water play area with buckets of water spilling to the deck and jets spouting into the air.
Woodland Park pool, at 671 Woodland Parkway, features a 50-foot long spiral waterslide, as well as a diving pool with 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards and a rock climbing wall.Summer swim lessons will also begin May 29.
