Life is always full of surprises. A week ago I have received a call from a fellow Rainer. She was looking for a condo-hotel in Daytona area, and asked me whether I could work with her. She came on Tuesday with her daughter, and we spent a few hours on Tuesday looking at condo-hotels. When I thought that they had enough of them, we agreed that they will think about what they saw and we will talk in the morning.

Turned out they had more energy than I thought, and went on their own to Hawaiian Inn, which was not on my list. I thought it wouldn’t be on theirs, but they liked one unit there, and on Wednesday, after we looked at the unit in Pirates Cove, we went to Hawaiian Inn and looked at this unit again. They said they wanted my opinion, and I tried to be as objective as I could.

ActiverainI liked the unit. Ground floor unit has higher ceilings, which immediately changed the way it looked. Unit in the north wing was facing the ocean. Beautiful green lawn right in front of the unit, and then you see the sand and the beautiful ocean. Because it is in the north wing, it is way more private than units facing the pool, but you step outside and you are right at the pool where the crowd is enjoying their vacation time.

The unit is for sale by the owner, and they gave me a small flyer with the contact information of the Seller from New York. They had 3 units in mind, and wanted to start with this unit in Hawaiian Inn first.

I went back to the office, pulled the data, created the charts and tried to figure the FMV of the unit. It was lower than the asking price and I called the Seller. I knew that the Seller bought 3 units in the resort and was renting them on his own. I asked him about his rentals and we talked about it for some time.

When I told the Seller that I am selling condo-hotel units for the last 11-12 years, he asked my name. I told him I was Jon Zolsky…

- Oh, Jon, I know you.

This was a surprise, as I did not think I ever met the Seller. I asked him whether we met, and he explained that he knew me from my blogs. He told me that he was following my blogs. And, of course, he knew me. Even where I lived before…

How interesting things could be. I have the buyer who found me on Active Rain, and the Seller knows me from the very same Active Rain. What an interesting surprise.

Joe, are you reading this? It was a pleasure talking to you today. Hopefully, I will be sending you the offer in the morning.

Jon, I have had that experience several places locally and even across the country where someone knew me from my blogs but I did not know them. You do have great exposure Jon and that theme of Daytona and Condo goes right with you.

Gary - it is a reminder that there are people reading and following our blogs, and we do not know about them. Comments come mostly from agents and tis is great.

The job usually comes from buyers and sellers, and they might be following us and not leaving comments. But they are there, and this time both sides were AR followers.

Jill - what some people tend to not understand is that the amount of Google juice is ties to the amount of sweat. No sweat, no juice. So, if you comeone comes to see what is going to be there in a month, the answer is that most probably nothing would happen.
