I remember years ago I wanted to get a clean photo of the exterior of a home and tried to convey that to the owner that was working in the front yard. I asked him if he would mind if I took the photo and he politely walked into the house. Just as I was about to shoot the photo, he came back out with his kids and wife and they all posed on the front porch for the photo. Life is good.
