So I have my first summer of vacations (yes that is a plural word) 
in years. Usually we go to one spot or another, but I'm doing three awesome vacations this summer. The first is just a daddy/son weekend up by our farm in Wisconsin. The second is my two older boys and me heading to Northern Canada with no cell, no internet...NO NADA!!! And the third is a family vacation for 10 days to northern Michigan.
I have 5 kids, so my getting away has to be real. I mean real. I can't afford to not be a dad. Why bother having kids if I can't, right? I hate when parents put their finger to their mouth and say "Shhhhh, I'm on the phone." Really? Are you a parent or are you an employee.
When I get home, I throw my phone into my cubby hole and turn the ringer off. No vibrating either. I'm a dad until they go to bed, and then I boot back up and return my calls.
For Canada...I won't be able to boot back up. No internet. No phone. No nada.
FOR 10 DAYS!!!!
My secret??? I have hired a Loan Officer as a managing partner of my team. She's awesome and she's gonna run the ship. Zero contact or interface with anyone...and for me...that's the treat!
