Memorial Day Events in Palm Beach County -

This weekend marks the beginning of the outdoor grilling-beach and Memorial Day Servicessunscreen season.   But lest we forget,  the real reason for all this merriment is to honor those who have served their country and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Palm Beach County will have many ceremonies and events to celebrate Memorial Day.  Here are just a few to help you get started.

Friday May 27-
Boynton Memorial Cemetery- 9 a.m.  Boynton Veterans will decorate graves with flags.  611 S. Seacrest, Boynton Beach 561-576-1796

Saturday May 28-
Remembering America’s Fallen-Eissey Campus  Theater   Patriotic music and America’s favorites by The New Gardens Band.  3 & 8pm $15 day/$20 evening  Veterans $5 day/$10 evening.  11051 Campus Drive Palm Beach Gardens 561-207-5900

Sunday May 29-
“Support Our Troops” Cookout-Whole Foods Markets in Wellington and Boca Raton. 561-369-2933 Hamburgers and hot dogs $5
Boynton Memorial Cemetery- 2 pm Following French honoring GI’s.  Bring chairs.  561-369-2933.
“A Memorial Day Musical Tribute” 4 pm Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Landmark Memorial -2400 N. Flagler, West Palm Beach-  Featuring the Boca Raton Singers. 561-832-4682.

Monday May 30-
Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony-8:45 a.m. Wellington Community Center 12150 Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington 561-791-4082.
Memorial Day Observance- 9:30 am Veteran’s Park  9400 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton FL  Bring Lawn Chairs 561-966-7047.
Memorial Day Service- 10 a.m. National Navy Seal Museum 3300 N. A1A Ft Pierce, FL  772-595-5845.

Kathy - Thanks for this great tribute. I get kind of sad this time of year; my dad passed away May 26 and was buried at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetary. It is kind of cool that it's around Memorial Day - He gets a 21 gun salute every year.

BARFF- I'd better see some pictures.

James- exactly! I have friends who will be "double dippers" and hindsight being 20/20 that's not a bad way to go.  It may not appear that way when we're younger but when you're older it looks pretty good.

Conrad- I hope to be enjoying the fresh air and sun.

Gabe- I don't know whether to hope you are busy with work and can't go to some of the activities or that you have time to attend the activities!!!
