Addison TX Bridge Celebrates 2 Year Anniversary

The Town of Addison (TX) opened its signature bridge on January 5, 2006.  Spanning Midway Road, the bridge is an extension of Arapaho Road, and makes the street continuous between Addison Road to the east and Surveyor Boulevard/Marsh Lane on the west.

The largest public works project undertaken by the Town, the bridge provides additional capacity for traffic traveling through Addison and alleviates congestion on Belt Line Road.

Three additional pocket parks were created along with the bridge and they provide a landscaped oasis with more than 600 trees and shrubs, along with a hike-and-bike trail.

Structurally, the bridge is a construction marvel, designed as a true arch with a suspended, 4-lane roadway and over 220 lights to enhance visibility and security for both drivers and pedestrians.  Painted Addison's signature blue color, it ties together the bridge and the Addison Circle area.
