Just wanted to remind you - here in Illinois, and perhaps where you live, the Voter's Registration Deadline for the February 5th Illinois Primary Elections is fast approaching!  The deadline here in Chicago, and all over the State of Illinois, is this Tuesday, January 8th. 

Here in the City of Chicago, there are several options to register to vote - the easiest being at your closest Illinois Secretary of State Drivers License Facility.  Click here for a list of facility locations.

Cook County residents can also go to Downtown Chicago to register - at the Offices of the Board of Election Commissioners, 69 W. Washington Street, Suite 600.  Call for information at 312-269-7900, or click on their website for voter registration information.  The Commissioner's office will be open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Monday, January 7th, and until the midnight deadline on Tuesday, the 8th.

Late registrations can be made through Tuesday, January 22nd, but these registrants have no option but to appear in person at the Commissioner's 69 W. Washington Downtown Chicago office.  They also have to cast their ballot at the same time of their registration - they cannot later vote at their local polling place.

Voter registration is the earliest in history in Illinois, as the Illinois Primary has been advanced to the First Tuesday in February beginning this year - it was previously scheduled in mid-March.

This is a historic election, everywhere, as both a prominent African-American and female candidate - Democratic Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama - both with Chicago and Illinois ties - are in the race for President.

Hi Dean:  I will be extremely interested in the results of your February 5th Democratic Primary.  At times I sway back and forth between Clinton and Obama.  Personally, I think I tend towards Hillary more, but actually, either one would be much more acceptable than any of the Republican candidates.  Thanks for helping get out the vote.
