Remember, we are talking about newspaper ads.  Anyway, there are many ads in the newspaper, but you don't need to run a large ad to get your message across to the public.   Size does not matter, it's in the ad message.  If you placed a small ad offering a free BMW in Irvine, you would probably get a great deal of traffic and calls.  Although you ad may be the smallest ad in the paper, if it makes a great offer, the ad will generate a response.   Remember, a small ad that runs every week and emphasizes the benefits or unique services will generate an excellent response.   The majority of newspaper advertisers are the smaller advertisers that run consistently every week with the three most important elements highlighted in their ad:

1.  A Benefit Headline

2.  An appealing offer

3.  A call to action

Newspaper ads are not very cost effective anymore and it does not matter what size they are. Those same 3 principles can be applied to Internet marketing. Thanks.

Chadd, Of course size matters! In ads of course!

I prefer the little country paper myself, where I can be one of few ads and business size.  They say it takes 36 times of seeing your face and company name together to get it to stick in someones mind what business you are in.

Who still uses newspaper ads?  My office uses them in the Spring/Summer market for open houses and then we take a big 1/2 page or larger ad.  Most home buyers start on the web and that is where I focus my attention.  I do utilize direct mail postcards and have found great success with those in building my brand...I always choose the JUMBO postcards  ;-)

Here's to a GREAT '08!

Be of service!  The rewards will come!
