Long Island Sellers Ask ~ Which Room Is The Most Important To Keep Clean When Selling Our North Shore of Long Island House?

Lawrence and Sheila Agranoff on The North Shore Of Long Island have been asked this Frequently Asked Question by Seller's who are getting ready to place their house on the market ~ "Which Room In The House Should Always Be Clean?"

Besides the Price, the Condition is extemely important when selling your house on The North Shore of Long Island.

Kitchens should be Spotless and Clutter-Free is our Answer ~ It's heart of the Home!

The Kitchen should look clean and spacious as it is the most important room in the house to the buyer. The emptier it is, the larger it will look to the buyer.

Start with Clean Counter-Tops. If you can, take everything off the counters and put them somewhere else if you have the room. If you don't have enough cabinet space, try and eliminate things that you rarely use and start packing them away. You're going to have to do this anyway when you move.

Clutter makes spaces seem smaller and will turn buyers off, so keep dirty dishes out of the  sink and off the counters. Clean the trash container thoroughly and make sure there are no dirty dish rags around.

Because the Kitchen is the biggest selling feature in your house, you want to keep it as clean as possible so it can make the potential buyer say, “This Is My Kitchen.”

And, when you're ready to make the move on The North Shore of Long Island, please call our Cell: 631-805-4400

Kitchen is surely a good selling point if it is nice and minimum few items on the counter top. We would like to see the entire property all clean and decluttered!

Larry and Sheila, I agree. In most cases its the kitchen that sells the home. The bathrooms are the next room buyers look at.

The entire home needs to be spotless for showings but the kitchen and bathrooms are indeed the most important........you can understand clothing on the chair in the bedroom, not a kitchen with food left out or dirty dishes in the sink! Great post..............

Totally agree that it is important for the kitchen to be spotless and clutter free. It also helps if the bathrooms are sparking and free of all personal items on the counter.

I would say all of them:) There is no question however that the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a home!

It's all about the kitchen. People can leave clothes and toys out or not make a bed, but a kitchen is where food is. It's gotta be clean.

Terrific post Larry & Sheila, the kitchen can be a huge turn off for buyers or it can help sell the home.

Yep, you feel like the whole house is a mess when the kitchen is the mess.

Larry and Sheila - I would also say keeping the bathroom clean is important.  No one wants to see a dirty bathroom either.

Great advice about keeping the kitchen clean and uncluttered.  But, the bathrooms better be clean as well.  Actually, the whole house!  :-)

Definitely the kitchen. It's always the first place I head to when we're looking for a new home. Congrats on the feature too.

i'd rather see a dierty kitchen than a dirty bathroom but those two top the list.

selling yoru home is a job for the home sellers as well, i know it is tiring cleaning and prepping for showings but it has to be done.

Oh, sure the whole house should be as clean as possible, but you're right. The kitchen is huge. You don't want to envision anyone cooking food in less-than-sanitary conditions. What others details might matter so little to them?
