Do You Remember?
Yes, Do you remember that the cost of Freedom is High. Freedom is not Free, and this Memorial Day Weekend, let us all “Take Time to Remember”all those brave men and women, who have sacrificed their lives, their time in service, and their families from trenches in the war that was to end all Wars(World War I), to shores of Tripoli, battle of Iwo Jima, and the beaches of Normandy, to the snow capped mountains in Korea, to the swamps of South Viet Nam, and to the deserts of the Middle East in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. There has been no greater sacrifice than when one of these brave men and women gave their lives for another. They have given us in America so much to be Thankful For, Our Freedoms and Our Way of Life.
Yes, We Honor the Brave This Memorial Day, and Yes, We Do Remember! So whether you are visiting a National Cemetery, watching a Memorial Day Parade, participating in a Memorial Day event, or just spending time with your family, and friends with your favorite BBQ dishes, it’s “Time To Remember” those that didn’t make it back home, those that Serve our Country, and those who have Served. I know I was honored to serve my country, and I will never forget.
God Bless America! God Bless our Military Service Members! We Remember!
Thanks, Jerry for your outstanding post. I will place a link on Facebook.
Have a great day and a special Memorial Day celebration.
THANK YOU Jerry for your service, and great post for this Memorial Day! God Bless America!
Yes, I remember and we visited Willamette National Cemetery yesterday to help remember those who gave us our freedom.
I am glad Roy (#64) reminded me - I am going to do the facebook post too. Great reminder. :)
Jerry - I came over especially to see what you would post today and I have to say WOW, WOW, WOW! I watched many of the nation's celebrations early this morning and had tears in my eyes many times. This is a post totally worth of a big gold feature star.
Hi Brenda. I had this post on my mind for a few days, and I really wanted to express my thoughts, and Pay Tribute to all our military men and women, past and present.
Hi Kevin, I know you must had quite an experience at the ceremony that the reserves put on this weekend. How can we every Forget those who gave their All for our country?
Yes, Cindy. I would agree that our military families need our support and "Praises" too. They have made some tremendous sacrifices, holding down the home while their spouses were gone in "Arms Way".
Yes, Thanks, Cheryl. You Service to your country is Highly appreciated by All Americans. God Bless America!
Hi Lou, Yes, we should Honor our service members year round, but This Weekend is very Special. A Time to Remember and pay Tribute to all who have given so much to protect our Freedoms.
Thanks, Robert. No, I never had to opportunity to pass through Fort Wainwright. I was a Lab Tech in the service, and my last duty station was Fort Campbell, KY at their MEDDAC. Glad to know a fellow Medical person and Army veteran. Since Fort Sam Houston was where all the Army's medical training took place, I am sure you may have been stationed there at one time or another. I know I was there three times.
Thanks for your Service too!
Thanks, Doug, I know many of those memories were not pleasant. The Viet Nam Memorial Wall in DC has many names of service members, who never made it back. Thanks for your Serving too!
Hi Christine. Your children can be very direct at times. I am sure you explained it very well. Thanks for your continued support of our military forces.
Hi Sharon. Memorial Day has special message for every American. I was just honored to be able to share my thoughts in this post. Thanks for your support for our veterans.
Yes, Cathy. We do need to Take Time to Remember the real meaning for this Memorial Day. Nice Tribute to your Dad!

You are Welcome, Joan. I thought this was a Great Message to share with everyone. Freedom is Not Free! It Costs!
Hi Todd, I know your visit to the National Cemetery must have been a Special Moment for you and everyone, who attended. Listening to Taps played during those ceremonies brings back sad memories, But it's an Honor to Pay Tribute to all veterans, past and present.
Thank You for Taking the Time to Remember!
Hi Joy, Thanks for following Roy's lead by placing this post on Facebook. It's a message we all need to share.
