How do YOU assess your competence? (edit/delete)

Did you ever critique yourself?

Have you ever though HOW you project?

Did you ever consider how people in general perceive you?

Well, it's a new year and self-evaluation will be a significant part of how you project your persona, your idea's, your new business plan.

Are you over zealous? Are you overly aggressive? Are you overly confident? Are you competent? Are you compliant?

Have you ever even though about it?

Are you a fabulous Real Estate agent? Are you mediocre? Do you care about your clients/customer's needs? Or, are you just out for the mighty dollar?

Do you write a good listing...do you take your time and enter as much information as possible to try to ensure a good and quick sale? Or do you put just enough info and only one picture because you are too lazy to do a good job for your client/customer?

Do you do your best to help your client/customer find what they are looking for in their purchase? Or do you just show them the easiest homes?  Do you research the MLS based on what they are looking for - or for that matter, did you even ask what they like?

How do you assess yourself and why?

Very good information. I think we could all learn something from this post to help us in our business.

By asking these questions we could be better agents.

I sure hope I pass my own test for competence.  Thanks for enlightening me.

I always think I can do things a little better and different each year. I still enjoy each sale and having one per week is something not every agent does.I know how to do my homework and am not afraid to change my entire business model. Am I the best, most likely not, but am closer as the years go by.

Dwayne,

Thank you...I don't think it ever hurts to re-assess our attitudes and feelings about being Realtors(R). After all we are self employed and do not have HR to assess their opinions...not that most of us need is......then again.

Eric,

Karen,

I was so curious about you that I went and read some of your blogs.  Boy are you right on.  The one that I found the most interesting was about blogging.  I find the negativity screams at me.  Not on my blog but the answers to others, Why have they not learned the less of it is not what you say but how you say it.  Today a friend of mine actually introduced my blog on hers, linked it and took an opposite point of view.  Everyone is entitled to their points and they are all valid but isn't there room to respect others and their feelings too.

Thanks for your candor and smarts.

Renee,

Glad you like my posts....feel free to join any of my groups....Especially my "Singles with positive attitudes" Group...You don't have to be single, just positive.  I have an AR cook book group too, if you like cooking. and one called AR singles...

You're welcome!

P.S. Negativity breeds contempt and I have no time for it!
