Where will you spend Memorial Day 2012?

Tomorrow is the day we've set aside to honor our true heroes.  That's true heroes- not Mickey Mouse, not Michael Jordan, not Lady GaGa (absolutely not Lady GaGa).  Memorial Day isn't for the famous- rather, it's a day when we look to give honor to the endless sea of crosses at Arlington and the American soldier who rests in honored glory and whose name is known but to God.

As for me, I will spend the day in Sanford, Florida- a city much-maligned and wrongly-maligned in recent months.  There are a number of events here in Central Florida and a bigger one held in downtown Orlando and elsewhere- but I choose to both honor our fallen heroes and support the great city of Sanford at the same time.

I encourage all who are able to join me in attending Sanford's Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony.  Parade starts at 10, ceremony at 11. Have to pray this dang Sub-Tropical...now-Tropical Storm Whatever doesn't wash it out!

Follow this link for more information- and let's see how far Sanford's come towards healing wounds both old and new:

For folks outside this area, please take just a few minutes and reflect on those who've fallen so America can remain standing as the best nation the planet's ever known.

That hasn't happened by accident or coincidence- it's happened thanks to the grace and tender mercies of our Lord Jesus Christ and those He's chosen as His vessels to effect His purposes.

Hi, Wallace:  Thank you for dropping by, and for your comment.  And hang in there, Junior!  The 88's gonna win soon, and it could still be tonight!  Hydrate tomorrow, Wallace- out on the road for a while yesterday and the humid 92 snuck up on me.  No fun...

Hi, Wayne:  Thank you for stopping by, and for your kind sentiments.  Not sure about the event, though- 80% chance of rain at last check and the fringe of the storm rolled in here about 20 minutes ago.  If the thing hits shore between Jacksonville and St. Augustine around midnight as they're predicting, the 4"+ of rain will be great for the ground that needs it...but no good for a parade!
