Just watched the season finale of Harry's Law, with Kathy Bates... I had it DVR'd, and just saw it tonight.
Harry sang a goodbye song to her recently deceased ex-husband at the end of the episode. It's a lesser-known song by Tom Waits that she adapted and sang on the show.
She's not a good singer, but she did it justice... it made me cry. It didn't help that I'd just learned that Harry's Law, a show that I'd come to enjoy, has been cancelled. I sought it out online, but couldn't find a downloadable copy. Apparently is a bonus track from a 1982 Album of the soundtrack of One from the heart... a forgettable film by mega-director Frances Ford Coppolla, staring Teri Garr and Frederick Forrest. (I don't blame you for not knowing it).
See if you can watch this without tearing up. It's typical Tom Waits with his gravely voice, emoting all over the place.
