Items that you want to trim

  1. Dead leaves
  2. Dead fruit stalks
  3. Badly damaged leaves that are still alive (unless they are the only remaining living fronds)
  4. Living flower and fruit stalks
  5. Leaves that fall below the line of the horizon

How to Trim Palm Trees - Tampa Florida

  1. Close to the trunk but not into the trunk
  2. Don't pull off leaves that don't come off easily
  3. NEVER (ever) use climbing spikes on palm trees
  4. When trimming Canary Island Date Palms, make sure to disinfect your shears as not to spread the fungus called Fusarium wilt.
