It was an exciting year at our Active Rain It's Raining DOGS! Dog Lovers Group !!!

Membership keeps growing and there is a lot of participation from our members. We go to our group to share the fun, the joys and sometimes the sadness of being a DOG lover, We talk about our adventures with our doggies new and old and we honor our precious pooches who are longer with us.

We laugh together, we shed many tears, we console one another, we pray for healing of our pets and for broken hearts. We bond with a bond of only those who truly love dogs can ever understand.

I thank all of you from my heart for your contributions. I know some of them were very difficult to write. I pray that you and your pooches will experience many healthy, joy filled years together.

And for those that are grieving a heavy loss, remember we are here for you. Many of us have been there and know it cuts like a knife. You will never forget, but hopefully another dog, perfect for you, is waiting to fill the empty place when the time is right.

These are great pictures. I just got my first dog a year ago(I am 28). I never thought I would love him so much. Now I have two and they are both the best. Cassie

I am a dog lover at heart and I grew up around dogs and many other animals. I just do not own one in my life. I believe it is not fair to the animal because I am not consistent to be home for them.

Wow! That's a lot of dogs! Thanks for including us! We love being here and enjoying all our friends!

Ginger - those are beautiful animals, thanks for sharing.  I can't have them around the house so we watch the dog shows on TV.

01/11/2008 11:17 PM by Jennifer Fivelsdal, Rhinebeck NY (Keller Williams Realty)

Wow, Ginger, you did a lot of work. Don't you just love looking at their eyes. In all the photos there is so much love - or understanding - or TOLERANCE of what their human is subjecting them to.

The Murph and I appreciate the mention.

01/11/2008 11:23 PM by Elaine Reese, REALTORĀ® in central Ohio (Real Living HER, Worthington Ohio)

Ginger- Thanks to you and all the other dog lovers. This is one of my favorite groups. You all have helped me through a very difficult year and I can't thank you enough. I'm planning on working my way through all of your highlighted posts. What would we do without our furry family members? I've got Courtney on the floor chewing on her bone, Olive sleeping next to me on the couch and the cat, Bubba, supervising all of us. Life is grand!

What a bunch of beautiful dogs in one place! I have to go read some of these. Shadow is still on steroids...down to 1/4 tab a day. She got better, worse and now stable. It's been a long road but she still is the same ole happy (now fat) girl she's always been. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together and it sure was a year for our loved ones.

Ginger- great post and great pics! This past year I lost two cats an a dog. All were older and it was their time. It was hard to let them go. That's the price we pay for the for their love and companionship! We still have one cat and one dog and we have a baby on the way. That will be enough for this year but who knows, next year we may add another faithful friend to our family!~Danielle

Missy's First Snow

My Scottish Terrorist...er...Scottish Terrorist travelled to Mammoth Mountain with us for Christmas 2007. I don't know what was funnier, her trying to walk in the snow for the first time, or the husky/malamute trying to figure out what it was that was wearing a winter coat complete with hoodie.
