Still struck me as funny because it seemed so true.

but there are places on the internet for those who do think that way. Zillow's forum, the REW forum spring to mind.

Good cartoon. I had a funny comment the other night on one of my blogs about my list of my favorite Mexican restaurants.  She started out "Seriously?" and then said "horrible" not about the restaurants but about my choice and then went on about how they weren't all authentic (which the entry written in 2006 clearly said...)  I was reminded of stupid deep conversations people will have when they are drunk and think they have to debate topics like what is the best Mexican restaurant.

Sarah, Good cartoon. Funny but true. I see a few spats like that go on here in AR.  8-)

I wish I could create a laugh-o-meter, but I'm not that good with graphics :-)

Everyone has their opinion, but what they fail to realize is that nobody ask for their opinion.  Personally, I thought the Mexican Restaurant list was fabulous.  Maybe you can follow it up with a mapped top ten list of ABC liquor stores in the Columbus area.:)

RealTalk on the IC / RealTown platform is another great place if you wake up feeling that way one moring... people will argue all kinds of pointless things there... or maybe RealTalk has changed since I stopped reading it...

Thanks Chris... this is on Discover Columbus (my other, other blog) and was long, long ago.  I did a rerun on CBB but not the same post. I don't drink so can't do my favorite liquor stores.... but maybe I'll do a poll.  Ask people for their opinions. Her opinion was fun.  Or funny.

Sarah, too funny...sad, but true!

Sarah, funny... I hadn't see that one of his. I think he is a fabulous cartoonist. Sad too.

Missy - I was looking for other stuff and saw his cartoons again, actually went for something else and then saw this one.  It wanted to be posted, so I did.

Linda - That's just how it struck me, too.  :)

Maureen - At least she wasn't afraid to jump in and share her thoughts on the matter!  Lol!

Chris - Some people really, really enjoy forcing themselves upon others.  (ugh)

Kris - Somehow I knew you'd get this one!!  :)

Michael - Sadly, I've seen a few myself.  ;)

Funny and quite true - even on here. As one who tries to avoid arguments I can't identify with the cartoon subjects.

It must be my age because instead of getting angry with people like that as I once would, I find myself feeling sorry for them.  I'd hate to have their life.

01/07/2008 06:39 AM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Sarah.... funny and cute cartoon. As several have stated, this happens. Some people just like to argue no matter what. I just ignore those people.  But those that want to challenge me and debate?  That's a different story.  Thanks for the laugh.

Marey - You're welcome!  Check out the site, there's a bunch more, all free to use in your own blog.

Linda - Oh, I think it's pretty sad, too.  But I think they should go be sad on their own and leave the rest of us out of it.

Gary - :)  I don't identify with it either, but I recognize it!

01/07/2008 07:12 AM by Sarah Cooper (Real Estate Shows)

ahahaaaa  I'm not sad, I'm laughing... I guess it has to do with how crazy I think some of the spats can get - this is probably how they start.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the day always seems like a wash if I can't lure an auto mechanic in Sri Lanka into a heated virtual debate.

Paul - Lol!!!

Kim - There's a lot of good cartoons in there -- all free to use on your own blog if you like!!

Georgina - Sadly, yes!

Sarah- this one cracks me up!  I think some people really think this!  Not any one here, of course!

This is the one... this is the cartoon I mentioned in a comment on another one of your posts Sarah.  When I blog about food in Columbus, one particular type of ethnic food I get comments from drunks, Californians, Arizonians itching for a fight.

Sarah, what a timely post.  The cartoon says it all.  I in fact just yesterday got emotionally charged by a post and did a stupid thing by responding in a very underhanded way without understanding the underlying motivation of the poster.  I was actually playing right into his motivation.  The response to me and others for that matter, from the poster made me think that something much deeper than the subject at hand was really in play.  So I did what I should have done in the first place and followed the links attached to his home page.  What a shock I found, but the answer was right there.  This fellow is a prolific writer on many subjects and foremost he is a leader of a think tank.  The fact that he is a big time think tank guy led me to look deeper at all of his material.  I could not find any evidence that he has personal feeling about any of the subjects he writes about, in stead what I found was typical of a think tanker in that he approaches any topic, over and over from more angles than can be imagined. Now I understood the motivation.  Throw something out there that will be very controversial and have fun feeding off of the emotions he evokes.  By simply responding, he was getting his desired effect.  Once I realized what was really at play I immediately went back and deleted my response, which I never would have done in the first place had I done the research up front.  Recognition for this type of thing only comes if any of us choose to involve ourselves.  Without our involvement it is just one persons opinion and quickly falls to the bottom of the posting list.  I have learned my lesson and will never be drug into the emotion again.

Sarah...that cartoon is so true...LOL I believe some wake up in the morning and are just ready to be miserable!

Nice cartoon Sarah. It conveys how internet connects unknown, unseen people to share their views together. It portraits the world of internet. How vast and wide it is? I liked your article Sarah.
