Why are so many people moving to Texas??
I can count off numerous reasons why so many people are heading to Texas and making it their home but I may be a little bias. There must be a reason other than friendly people, beautiful settings and plenty of places to roam!
LOW TAXES! Here in Texas we can boast about having “no state income tax.” People living and working in states with a state income tax can take home up to 11% more of their income just by moving to Texas.
LOWER HOUSING COSTS! Texas was one of the few states that didn’t really have a direct hit when it came to the down turn of the housing market. I can’t say as Texans we weren’t affected but the housing market wasn’t near as harmed as many states. The hit that Texas did have is now taking a turn around and the housing market is jumping back. The low cost of housing makes Texas very appealing to those in states where the price of housing is much more expensive.
JOBS ARE PLENTIFUL IN TEXAS. Let’s face it people go where their jobs take them or where they can find a job that will take them! Texas has 4 of 5 the spots for Best Big Cities to have jobs according to Forbes Magazine.
SMALL BUSINESSES ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED IN TEXAS.In Texas, big companies don’t have to worry about being held accountable for poor working conditions because low-tax, low service states have gutted the civil justice system to the point that average workers and small mom-and-pop business owners can’t even get their days in court. The Texas Supreme Court rules in favor of big business over average people 87 percent of the time. *http://milamblues.wordpress.com/2011/01/07/why-do-people-move-to-texas/
TEXAS HAS A GOOD REPUTATION FOR QUALITY OF LIFE. Don’t mess with Texas isn’t just a quote it is a way of life for most Texans. Just as people living in other states Texans take pride in their state and their friendly and open hospitality make moving to Texas a delightful experience. In Texas you will always know your neighbors!
Take a look at this map. This is a good representation of the flocks of people moving to Texas! This map represents moves to Travis County, TExas. (Austin area)
