The group meets every Wednesday morning from 8 to 9 am at Silverton Inn & Suites. Leaders for May are Mark Hunter and Jamison Ulibarri with Signposts Consulting for Nonprofits. This week’s speaker is from Hand in Hand Farms.

June Forum Lunch
Friday, June 8 11:45 to 1:00 pm – the Chamber is pleased to present Mary Louise VanNatta of VanNatta Public Relations Inc., an award-winning Public Relations, Event Planning and Association Management firm in Salem, as the Forum Lunch speaker for June. Mary Louise VanNatta, CEO and "Out and About" columnist for the Statesman Journal will talk about the significance of social networking in marketing.  Lunch is held in the conference room above the Birthing Center at Silverton Health. Cost is $10 with a reservation made no later than Tuesday, June 5 (this is a new cut-off day) to 503-873-5615.

If you regularly attend Forum Lunches you may wish to take advantage of the Chamber’s 6 lunches for the price of 5 card available at the lunch or at the Chamber office. Cost is $50 paid at the time of purchase. Who says there is no FREE lunch?

The Silverton United Methodist Church at 203 W Main welcomes you to the First Friday First Stop for an Herb Sale from 5-7 pm.  All proceeds benefit the Healthy Snack Sacks for Kids Program. 

June First Friday at Lunaria Gallery “Collaboration: Honoring the Vessel”
First Friday reception June 1, 7-9pm – Featured artists Julie Huisman, ceramics and Theresa Sharrar, paintings

Julie Huisman is releasing her new work, focusing on a wide variety of vessels and ceramic miniatures.  These miniature creations have not been featured before, and she is very excited about the inspiration she feels while working on their forms.

Theresa Sharrar is exploring new shapes and forms in her oil paintings after collaborating with Julie and experimenting with clay.  Come and see how this experience will translate to the canvas in her new work.

  The upstairs show at the gallery will be a continuation of the group show titled: “Enchanted Garden”.  This exhibit will be celebrating the arrival of spring in “Oregon’s Garden City” and is art for and about the garden by gallery artists and guests.

First Friday at the Silverton Arts Association
Gallery Reception – Join Silverton Arts Association in celebrating the opening of the Good Old Boys show at the Borland Gallery at a reception on First Friday June 1 from 7:00-9:00. The Good Old Boys show will feature the artwork of men in the Silverton and surrounding areas.

First Friday at Creekside Grill

Silverton Farmers Market

Silverton Seniors at Saturday Market
The Silverton Senior Center will be at the Saturday Farmers Market selling wonderful homemade baked goods, goodies & local Wildflower Honey. Support the Silverton Senior Center on June 2 & 23, every Saturday in July, Aug. 18 & 25, and Sept. 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 9 am to 1 pm.  Anyone & any age can support the SSC at the Farmers Market in Silverton!

The Gordon House proudly presents “Barbara Bassett Paints the Gordon House & More”
Original Painting & Print Art Show & Sale

June 2 through 30 “Barbara Bassett’s paintings are a wonderful pairing of abstract and realistic styles”, says Gordon House General Director Molly Murphy.  “It is such an honor to exhibit a talented and award-winning local artist at the house that Evelyn Gordon filled with paintings and her art collection during her time in the house she loved.  Bassett’s show will be on display for a whole month to be sure everyone has time to visit and enjoy Wright’s only Oregon building through the eyes of artist Bassett.  The show and sale will be on display at the Gordon House from June 2 through 30.  The house is open almost every day from 12 noon to 4 p.m. with reservations.  Guided tours are $10 per person.  Art show admittance is $3, and Gordon House members are free.

Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch
Open Barn and Store Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd. We will be open most weekends June-December. We have shearing June 4th and 5th which can be quite entertaining. We also have new babies in the back and very cute to hold. If you’d like to bring children, call ahead and we can personalize your tour. In our store, we are selling mostly alpaca products: yarn, roving, scarves, sweaters, Socks, and rugs. We also carry Barn Fly and Ryan Michael shirts and women’s accessories. Silverton Seniors Casino Trip                                                                                                               Monday June 4, 9 am to 4 pm - Silverton Senior Center has planned a trip to Spirit Mountain Casino. Silverton Together is Looking for a Few Good Fishing Buddies!
Saturday, June 9 is the 18th annual Free Fish Day at the Silverton Reservoir. Volunteers are needed from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. This family event is a fun opportunity for anyone who likes to help kids. Please Help! Call 503-873-0405 to volunteer.

Free Fish Day
Saturday, June 9, 8 am - 12 pm – Free fishing day for kids at the Silverton Reservoir sponsored by Silverton Together, Izaak Walton League, Silverton Kiwanis, Silverton Lions, City of Silverton, and Oregon Fish & Wildlife. No vehicles allowed at the reservoir. There will be shuttles from downtown to transport everyone to the reservoir picking up at Roth’s, Safeway, Silverton Historical Museum, and the Church of the Nazarene. Free workshop – Outdoor Painting with Peter Fox
Please join Silverton Arts Association for a FREE outdoor painting workshop! Overcome your fears about painting outdoors! Plein Air artist Peter Fox will be giving a demonstration and providing valuable information on how to go about painting in the great outdoors. Join in or simply observe as we go over a step-by-step method for success.

The Gordon House Celebrates Frank Lloyd Wright’s 145th Birthday
Saturday, June 23, 10 – 4 The Gordon House, designed by world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, will host a special celebration on Saturday, June 23, to commemorate what would have been the month of Wright’s 145th birthday.  You’re invited to tour and enjoy his only building in Oregon forty-eight years after it was built as Wright’s example of the only truly American architectural style.
