Yesterday I hit a milestone with little fanfare, My counter hit 400,000 points here on Active Rain. I received a few emails directly but one really stood out, I thank them for taking the effort to email me but their first line saying I was pretty Lucky to have hit 400,000 points had mixed feelings. Was that a compliment? Or were they saying it takes luck to reach 400,000 points?
To succeed in the Real Estate bussiness they say you have to have a mix of experience, hard work, the ability to adapt, some patience and some luck. In order to succeed on Active Rain you really have to rely on Hard Work to earn points on AR. There is no Roulette wheel, there is no slot machine and no spinning multiplier that awards these points. It is persistance, patience and hard work. It was pointed out that it was my 2 year anniversay on Active Rain May 10. I missed it.... but one person noticed yesterday...
I enjoy earning points and seeing my ranking rise. I am #1 for Manchester NH and currently #8 in the State of NH. You must know... points are nice, but the business I receive from my Blog is the most rewarding in a business sense. I have received referrals from all over the country from my blog. The most rewarding personally is that every day I learn something new. I follow some great people here on AR and could not imagine a day without being able to read their blogs before I hit the road for the days appointments.
My advice to the email writer letting me know that luck racked up these points should know it was not luck, it was persistance to read all the blogs I could and follow those that I was interested in reading more from. I comment on at least the 10 blogs every day and have come to know some great people from across the country. These great people provide inspiration every day. Although most I never met, I feel happy for them when good things happen, I send my best wishes and support when they need them and applaud them when they do well. It was through everyone's support, tips and advice i have come to polish my writing skills.
So on my belated 2 year anniversary, Thank You All for 2 great Years.
