9 Comments on Fact Or Fiction, Realtor’s Check Before!
WOW .. .politics and real estate is not my cup of tea. . .but I know puffing when I see it. .
We get bunches of emails with questionable "facts". If one wants to pass the information, one must TOTALLY verify; otherwise, your credibility can be affected.
Well the above e-mail certainly caught my eye, good thing we have Google.
Hi David, The only source cited here is the GOP blog !!! I think there is a site for this type of thing - Factcheck.org ??? I'll see if I can find it and update.
Hi again David, Went to the site www.Factcheck.org ( non-partisan non- governmental, etc ). Very interesting and full of this kind of political garbage. This is what I found under a sub-heading concerning rumors:
Is the National Association of Realtors lobbying to repeal a 3.8 percent “sales tax” on homes before it takes effect in 2013?
No. There’s no such “sales tax” in the new health care law. And Medicare premiums aren’t going to $247 either. But these virulent falsehoods keep going around.

Hope this clarifies the nature of the claim and restores your cred.
This type of hype and disinformation is truly a shame because it is put out there in an effort to scare and manipulate. If we as Realtors® don't confirm this then the higher standard of education and care that is part of being a member of the NAR with a Realtor® designation we are not doing our jobs.
David, I get so tired of the misinformation that spreads like wildfire on the web. Thanks for helping slow this one down.
Bill, Thanks for the FactCheck.org link, something all Realtor's should have bookmarked.

Looks like someone is being very "creative" in their attempts to drum up business, David, perhaps too much so.
