I watched with great interest the debates between the Republican candidates followed by the Democratic candidates on Saturday evening because quite frankly I haven't made up my mind which candidate to support.  It was interesting that none of the questions concerned the economy.  Facebook conducted an on-line poll and that was the number one thing that people want to hear about.

While the candidates seem to believe that "change" is what people want; that may be so but mainly people want to know how they are going to financially survive gas prices, the housing crisis, higher food bills, THE DECLINING ECONOMY!  I just wanted to hear the candidates talk about their strategy for turning around this decline.  I believe that it was a mistake not to.

I am interested in hearing what my fellow AR'ers think about how the  debates.

Hi Sandy, I haven't checked out Facebook yet.  I am wondering why the economy wasn't the big thing.  I think it is and I live in Massachusetts.  I have had trouble figuring out who I am behind but I do think that Mitt Romney is the one that can help our economy.  I think the other biggy is the terrorist threats and that fits all but Huckabee's bill.  Oh well we will see.  I think Obama is too inexpericened.  Hillary is too combative and polarizing, Edwards scares me, Ron Paul is really scary.

Sandy  Frankly, I place absolutely io credence in what politicians say when they are trying to be the nominee or when they are the nominee and after they are in office.  Nowadays their only interest is themselves

Thanks Pat and Karen for your comments.  I just don't understand how we can make a decision about who to vote for if they don't talk about the economy.  I have sent each candidate an email asking for their economic policies.  I will post if I hear back from anybody.

Hi Sandy,

Its unreal that this is all we have to choose from...Scary; it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Now on to the serious matter of the economy, for them not to touch on this is absurd...this in my eyes should have been top priorty right along side of this great nations safety. I am however like you, undecided, we will have to wait to see what lies, Oops... I mean plans they have for us next...LOL

Hello Sandy,
I think the candidates know that Americans are unhappy with the current situation (s) regarding the war, the economy, gas prices, etc and think that the word "change" is the magic pill.  I can't say I'm excited about any of them.

I think the Democrats are at least interesting to watch - the Republicans bore me to death.

I started to write more of a response, but then I felt the need to blog and did not want to waste it.

Charles--I couldn't agree more! What about tonight's shocker?? More tears please!!

Cynthia--I totally agree with you. I am struggling to find someone to vote for that I have a shred of confidence in.

Ron--You nailed my sentiments!

Dont trust the facebook polls. the majority of the people using it are under the age of 25. According to their polls Ron Paul is always the winner of everything
