The award-winning Hands on Children’s Museum in Olympia, WA is raising money for a new facility. Founded in 1987, the museum is known for its interactive exhibits for children that encourage learning, creativity and curiosity. They have outgrown their current location near the Capitol campus and are building a new larger facility on East Bay at the waterfront.
One of the museum’s fundraisers is to sell fish-shaped name plaques that will be displayed in the new building.
If you’d like a name plaque for the museum, you can win one from Coldwell Banker Evergreen Olympic Realty. We are asking you for a theme for our company’s Sand in the City sand sculpture. The person or family whose theme we choose to carve will receive a naming plaque.
Sand in the City is a two-day sand-sculpting festival on the Port Plaza in front of Anthony’s HomePort on the water. The event kicks off August 24th through 26th.
Our brokerage has entered Sand in the City in alternating years. In 2003, we won the Golden Shovel award for the best sand sculpture. This year, we are looking for fun and creative ideas that involve housing and that appeal to the kid in all of us. Get those creative juices flowing and lend us – and the Museum – a hand in the sand! (Send me your ideas to enter.)
