Woo Hoo! I Sold My First Painting!

I have been painting canvi (that's a technical term...) to use in my Home Staging because I wanted certain colours that I like.
painter
My mentor, Kathie; an artist herself and art teacher, has a little studio in Devon where I have been painting. Although she has not been 'teaching' me she does come over when I say 'hmmmm' and say what she thinks and I can take it or leave it...

Most of the time I take what she has to say and I run with it!

She and her artist man Jack, both give me pointers and are willing to take my art and show it to their connections, which was a thrill to hear!

She said when she first saw this painting not to let it go for less that $1500.

? !

Woo Hoo! I Sold My First Painting!
Who knew!?!

Then a day later she said she wanted to buy it and would pay me X amount plus unlimited Studio time.

A bargain in my opinion! I sell a painting and  get access to her and her knowledge! What a deal!

I can see I'll be spending a lot more time there... :D

Alexandra, Thanx! It is an unexpected turn of events, I really was just painting for my biz, but if I can actually paint things that people want, Woo hoo!

Bob, Thanx, I guess so! Although I'm not making quite as much... :D Still it is a lot like the feeling I have when one of my Staged homes sells!

Phil, that would be marvelous! :D I am going to do a series like this one, because it was so much fun and easy to mix the colours etc...

Barbara, I was very surprised when she walked in and said that! Although I'll have to do multiples if I want to keep some for Staging... lol

Sharon, Thanx! I have my fave colours in accessories and I wanted to have artwork that would match. I'm notoriously cheap, so didn't want to pay another artist a pile of $$ to paint me something, so here I am with another hat to add to my collection! I love my life!

Kerrie! It's so great to be able to do things that you love and get paid for it! I pity people who work just for the money but hate their jobs...

Anna, I think I need to paint a bit more before I could do something like that...  but I'm working on it! :D

Peg,  Good job my friend.  We never see our artwork as others do.  I look at something I create and say Ehhhhh.  Someone else sees it and says Oh my gosh - I love it.  Of course I pay them to do that.

How exciting!  I'm very happy for you.  At $1500 I couldn't afford one, though!  I'll just have to paint my own, LOL!
