Thumbs UpWell now, isn’t it fortunate for me that the Crofton/Gambrills, MD area has three, count them, THREE Dunkin Donuts, and today is National Donut Day. Except for the fact that I may not be able to get to the drive thru with all the Police Cars, I’m sure I’ll be finding my way to a DD today.

The Chicago branch of the Salvation Army started National Donut Day in 1938, to honor those men and women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. I’m sure there are more than a few Active Rain members like me, who appreciated the civilian volunteers who distributed donuts to the troops during our service.

Dunkin Donuts is giving away a free donut of your choice with the purchase of a beverage. Krispy Kreme is also giving away a free donut, without any purchase being required, as well as many local donut shops.


What’s more American than a donut? It’s patriotic to accept their free offer today. See you at the drive thru.

In Crofton/Gambrills you can find a Dunkin Donuts on Rt. 3 N, Rt. 3 S, and Rt. 424. They're pretty hard to miss.
