Do you live in the East end of Ottawa?

If you are a resident of the East end of Ottawa this is something that you must be aware of. Make sure ot come to a meeting on June 12, 2012 at the Shenkman Centre. Here is a flyer that came around a few days ago and I thought it was VERY important to let people know about the inter-provincial bridge that is coming to the east of Ottawa.

THREE QUESTIONS for ALL East End Residents:

1. Did you know that a bridge from Quebec about the size of the MacDonald Cartier Bridge will be built in the East End?

2. Are you aware that there are 2-1 odds that this bridge will slice through the Eastern Greenbelt between Jeanne D’Arc and Montreal Road effectively creating a second split?

3. Have you considered the effect on YOUR life if 3000 more vehicles are added daily to the traffic on Highway 174?

If you answered NO to any or all of these questions, it is time for you to get informed! Most residents of the East End have no idea that there is a substantial risk that the NCC will choose to place a bridge the size of the MacDonald Cartier Bridge in the Eastern Greenbelt.

Consider the impact of adding thousands MORE vehicles to our already congested Hwy 174. Where will the traffic overflow go – Innes Rd? Montreal Rd? St. Joseph Blvd.? Bearbrook Rd? Ogilvie Rd? Blair Rd?

Consider the loss of the entire eastern Greenbelt, the loss of the Orleans Fruit Farm, and possible loss of the Montreal Road or Jeanne D’Arc exit. Think about the loss of your property’s value!

The decision will be made as early as August 2012! At that point it will be too late to complain!

The Residents of the East End MUST understand what the issues are in this monumental decision. Find out what is really going on! Here’s how:

1. Visit http://www.ncrcrossings.ca and click ‘What’s New?’ then click on ‘Focused Segment Community Meetings’ to view the official bridge locations.

2. Visit http://www.commonsensecrossings.com to get informed!
