2012 Canadian Forces Day and Air Show - Canadian Forces Base Borden (CFB Borden)
This years Canadian Forces Day and Air Show will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 and the 68th Anniversary of D-Day.
The Air Show will have something for everyone on the ground and in the sky, including military and civilian air demonstration and acrobatic teams. For a peak into what you might expect to see check out the links to the various web sites of the participants:
The Canadian Forces will be represented by:
- the Canadian Forces Parachute team – SkyHawks
- the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team
- the CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team
- the CP-140 Aurora Maritime Patrol Aircraft.
The civilian presence includes:
- Harvard Formation from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association
- Hawk One F-86 Sabre Jet
- Iron Eagle Aerobatic Team
- Jane Wicker Wing Walking
- Kent Pietch
- Manfred Radius
- P-40N Kittyhawk from Vintage Wings of Canada
- Rick Volker,
- T-33 Silver Star Jet
In addition there will be many interactive activities and displays for adults and kids alike, such as the well-known Kiddie Commando Course.
Borden military schools and units will be have displays highlighting the training that they offer and how this training contributes to Canadian Forces operations.

- Canadian Forces School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CFSEME)
- Canadian Forces Training Development Centre (CFTDC)
- Regional Cadet Support Unit (Central)
About Borden and The Borden Canadian Forces Day and Air Show
"Borden and The Borden Canadian Forces Day and Air Show is an open house which provides an opportunity for visitors to see what takes place at CFB Borden. On average Borden trains approximately 15,000 military personnel annually and the Base employs over 3,000 military personnel and over 1,500 civilians. Borden is the largest Base dedicated to support occupation training in the Canadian Forces and every day, our military schools and units are committed to providing trained soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen to support the numerous operations that the Canadian Forces are involved with worldwide."
