My Biography: Bill Rogers was born an entrepreneur. He started his first company by talking his father out of 10 acres of cotton in South Texas at the age of 10. At age 15, he bought a combine, hired 3 trucks and cut grain from Corpus Christi to Waco Texas. Mr. Rogers graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA and moved to Houston Texas.

By the age of 27, Mr. Rogers was featured in an article in Fortune Magazine and owned eleven corporations including a frozen food manufacturing company (American Seafood, Inc.) Four counties of a Budweiser Beer Distributorship, twelve restaurants, a Pontiac-Cadillac-Buick Dealership, an insurance agency, a real estate company, and Catalina Marine (a boat manufacturing company).

His stream of good luck hit rock bottom when he went flat broke at age 29­. He had spread himself too thin in too many unrelated industries. He has never made that mistake again.

Becoming a more experienced entrepreneur, he regrouped and built, one at a time, the largest home delivery grocery store in the U.S. (Tel-A-Food, Inc), the fourth television network in the country (Night Flight, Inc.), Oil company (Rogers Resources, Inc.) that created a new way to find oil, a commodities firm (U.S. futures – specializing in trading gold/silver and foreign currencies), an insurance company, Lone Star Potato Chip Company and Rogers Employee Benefits Company.

Bill stated “I like taking an idea from a napkin to reality”. He has lived by his motto, “YOU CAN DO ALMOST ANYTHING IN THE WORLD YOU WANT TO DO –IF– YOU WANT IT BAD ENOUGH.”

In 1991, Bill founded the Texas Entrepreneurs Society. The Texas Entrepreneurs Society had a mentor program for children’s homes and helped set-up The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Houston, a 2 year program where students can major in entrepreneurship. The society had monthly luncheons with very successful entrepreneur guest speakers. Average attendance was approximately 120 entrepreneurs at each luncheon for 5 years.

Bill won one of the “Entrepreneurs of the Year” awards in 1992 sponsored by Ernst And Young, Inc. Magazine, and Merrill Lynch. In 1994, he was judge for the awards. In March of 1994, he founded the World Entrepreneur Society (WES) as a non-profit corporation, using the Texas Entrepreneurs Society as a model. New chapters of WES were able to immediately activate their programs. In 1996, there were 31 chapters worldwide.

Bill is the author of multiple books including, “How To Start A Company With $5 In Your Pocket,” “The Layman’s Definition of Oil and Gas Terms,” “How To Find Your Ultimate Mate,” “How To Become One Of The World’s Greatest Salesmen,” and “How To Become Super Successful In Business.” He is also in the process of writing four new books.

Bill has many years of mergers and acquisition experience and has helped take several companies public. In 1999, Bill created a new concept for an internet search engine and took the company public as President, CEO and was the company’s largest stockholder (Internet Marketing, Inc.).

Bill Rogers once stated, “I know more things not to do than anybody I ever met.” In 1991 Bill Rogers helped Bill Sherrill set up the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Houston. He lectures part-time every semester and teaches creativity. He is also the past Director of Mentoring for the program and judge’s students business plans.

- Past host of a radio show on KSEV radio in Houston, Texas.

- Patented a new concept for a building.

- Past Director of Entrepreneurship Education for the Houston Police Department.

- Winner of the 1995–1996 “Partner in Education” Award from Stovall Elementary School (Houston, Texas) for establishing the entrepreneurial teaching program.

- Past Chairman of the Board and CEO of IMT with offices in the U.S.A. & Europe, Mr. Rogers helped build one of the most creative advertising agencies in the World.

- Past Chairman and President of Success Society of America, Inc

- In the past, Mr. Rogers has seriously participated in golf, tennis, pool, table tennis, chess, bridge, skeet, trap, and pistol/rifle competitions.

- Current Chairman and President of the Youth Foundation of America. (A non-profit corporation that develops “Success Clubs” in children’s homes).

- Current President and CEO of the Golden Eagle Publishing Company, Inc. (Owner of the Yes You Can Do It! Brand).

- Founder of the Yes You Can Do It! Club.
