20 questions?
How many questions are you asking your customers before you take off on a mission thinking that you know exactly what they need? My youngest has recently brought 20 questions back into my life and it made me consider recently that it really is a great game for grownups to play as well. The whole purpose is to get to the point, isn't it? To drill it down to the smallest possible place that could identify what the "object of interest" really is? So I suggest that today and maybe for the next few-31 days? You spend a little time "playing". I wonder how many of our childhood games were intended to get us to think about what we do just a bit more closely?
Hide and seek?
Every REALTOR that I know is good at this one! On the average would you guess that we get lost more than the average person? I try hard to avoid the appearance of getting lost by always printing my maps and taking the map book with me. Frankly, it still happens on occasion! I'll bet if someone really took a survey they would find us first in line for the cars with GPS and or a separate GPS system just to play with? The other version of Hide and Seek that comes to mind is the paperwork. I have taken to creating bundles for different purposes. I allways have about 3 listing packets and 5 Buyer packets in the car. The Buyer packets include the forms to make an offer! So the only papers I have to collect as I walk out the door are the properties we will see and the maps to get us there, plus my keys and cards.
Mother may I?
My husband tells me I need to take a breath when I'm speaking- So they other person can get a word in edgewise. Frankly I think it's just him. We compete for word space in my house. It happens when a lot of your ancestors come from those tiny Islands known as Great Britain. The Irish have a bit of the blarney and his Welsh isn't far behind. The lesson here though might be to listen more to my customers and clients! One of the things you may hear in my e-PRO classes is that we need to do things that make us standout from everyone else-those questions again-How may I contact you? Do you prefer e-mail, phone, texting or fax? Is your receptionist at the front desk asking these questions? How many offfices do you know that will? Would that help your whole office avoid being a "me too" office and or REALTOR?
Simon Says
Luckily the only time this applies is when NAR,TAR, or the State says so.
Play well.
