7 Comments on Visiting San Francisco Bay Area? "FRISCO" is a Slur
Understood! How could anyone refer to an area that is so beautiful as "Frisco"? Folks leave their heart in San Francisco, not Frisco.
Hey Roger, thanks.
Hey Lloyd,
I learned something from your post that will come in handy when I get to visit San Franscico. Thanks and best of success to you this year!
I've never been, and hope to visit some day. I would not have known, but I can't imagine myself saying "frisco" anyways.
Hi Lloyd ~ Your post brought back memories for me! As you know I grew up not far from "The City" (a name my parents always called it since they were both born and raised there) and hearing "Frisco" as a kid, it really sounded WRONG!! You are so right that it just grates on your nerves or something. I'm glad you're setting the record straight about San Francisco!!
Hey Jordan, thanks.
Sharon, you and your sailing daughter and husband should come out to watch the America's Cup sail boat race in the SF Bay. My treat for lunch or dinner.
Hi Maureen, yes I call it "The City" also. Maybe only Southern Californians call it "Frisco". A radio talk-show caller prompted this Frisco post.
Love this, Lloyd. There is a Frisco, and it's in Texas. I know...my sister lives there. The two towns are nothing alike. (lol).
