Floridians Vote Yes on One January 29

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Tropical Springs

January 29, 2008, Floridians will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed

Constitutional Amendment. The Amendment would:

Double the homestead exemption to $50,000;

Allow portability of existing Save Our Homes benefits;

Provide a 10% maximum cap on assessment increases

for non-homesteaded properties; and

Create a $25,000 exemption on tangible personal

property for businesses and mobile home residents. This is the most perfect remedy but, it is a start.  Vote YES January 29 ! If you live in Broward County you can go to www.bcpa.net to see how these change will affect you.

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, January 9, at 7 p.m. there will be a Property Tax Town Hall Forum at the Coral Springs Center for the Performing Arts, located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive .  This is being sponsored by the League of Cities.  The panel and audience will be comprised of mostly anti-tax relief groups, with the exception of us and the Property Appraiser.  Media is likely to be present as it was for a similar forum last night.

Please consider attending to show your support.  When you are there, please seek out the cameras if you are comfortable are try to make your opinions heard on the evening news.  Also, please consider asking questions of the panel who are making the case for the continued situation of high taxes.

We need as many people as possible to attend.  The only way we will achieve 60% of the vote on January 29 is by going toe-to-toe with those who oppose us.
