halibut dinner

The best thing about living in Newport, Oregon is the fresh seafood available every day of the week!

Newport, Oregon is famous for Dungeness crab, which is plentiful and can be caught using a crab pot right off one of the many piers....However, the really special catch for me is the more difficult to find halibut, which lurks a few miles off the coast. This photo was taken after a 60 pound halibut was caught last week, then flash frozen on the boat. My friend, who is also a real estate agent, put the fish in a cooler for me and left it at my desk for me to find when I returned to the office.

Newport

Just for you, a photo of Newport's Yaquina Bay Bridge as seen from the deck of a "soon-to-be listed" condo that I will represent in the coming week. The condo is located at the Embarcadero Resort in Newport and is a short distance from Newport's Historic Bayfront, a working fishing port where you can buy fresh fish, or throw a crab pot from the dock and try to catch a crab for dinner. We are currently under rainy skies, but that doesn't stop the fish from biting! As you can see, Newport is beautiful in any kind of weather, so come on out and enjoy the Oregon Coast, take Highway 20 from the I5 at Corvallis, drive an hour and you are here!

Call me when you are ready to search for your home in Newport, you might want to buy a house, "just for the halibut!"

the first pic made me hungry,  at least the fish was frozen and put in a cooler for you, it could have been a real stink deal...

Hi Barbara -- the view from the condo that is coming soon to the market -- is great and certainly no fish story.  Hope you reel in a buyer very soon.   Sorry for the puns!

Diane, that fish was so fresh it did not have time to get stinky! Hope you have an awesome real estate day!

Hi Barbara, your title reeled me in.   Your upcoming listing also sounds like quite the catch.  Sorry couldn't help but join in with the puns.
