Speechless Sunday - Columbia Gorge's Kiteboarding Season Well Underway
In case you don't know, the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River specifically is nationally known in kiteboarding circles. And in case you don't know, kiteboarding is a sport where the rider stands on a small surfboard then holds onto a kite, similar to a parasail, and uses the wind to ride the water. Because of its geological form, the Columbia Gorge channels wind that's perfect for the sport so enthusiasts flock to the area from May to October. The last few days we've seen lots of boarders on the water, catching air and thrills.
