6 Comments on Hold On....Coming in for a Landing at The Beach
Kristin: Those shots are absolutely great. What a catch you made. Funny, the the very bottom one, with both it's wings up... reminded me of Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid movies. There was a shot where he was standing on either a rock, or a piling like the one in the picture, with both his arms extended like that. What a funny thing for this gorgeous bird to remind me of.
Thanks for the great photos.
Hi Karen Anne,
We went to see the USS Iowa that is docked down at the Port of Los Angeles. We couldn't get real close as they had the port police keeping everyone out so we drove to another part of the pier and what a great find. We found a good place to eat upstairs and had a window booth with a view of all the boats and birds. Later we went downstairs and watched for a really long time and I was lucky to get all these photos.
The last photo is really funny with his wings hunched up like that.
Nice shots, Kristin! It sounds like quite the nice day you had.
Have a good week!!!
Sow, Kristen! Those are all just wonderful shots. It's like the bird was actually posing for you in the last one.
Hi DeeDee,
It was a lovely day and I got some nice USS Iowa pictures and of course my favorites, bird pictures too. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Patricia,
I usually miss the wing shots but I got this one. He did stand like that for about 5 seconds and I was clicking the entire time. Those birds know where the fish is...coming in on the fishing boats.
