Linstock is the new word of the day.

OK this one is for the men you should know or come close to the meaning of this.  For you ladies this may be a little tougher for you.  So guys what to give it a shot (that is a hint)?  Come on just one try and ladies I’m not leaving you out either.  If you know shout it out…  The meaning of (lin’stak’) a long stick formerly used to hold a lighted match for firing a cannon.

Good morning, James. I tend to have a short fuse on my cannons. I can see where a linstock will keep my fingers from being burned (again)...

Hi James,

I am without a cannon to light at the moment, but if I did have one to light.

I deffinetly would use a Linstock, for safety purposes of course.

Have a good day in Rogers, Arkansas.

Best, Clint McKie

When we were kids, we used "punks" for lighting fireworks.  They were long sticks with a hot end on them.  Pretty much the same thing.

Good one James.  I needed a refresher on the meaning.  I do recall this being mentioned in the history books of my youth.
