The William's Lake Classic Bike Race In Rosendale NY
Calling all mountain bikers: this weekend is the William's Lake Classic Bike Race in Rosendale NY! Locals probably recall the truly awesome trails at William's Lake, which have been off-limits to the public for years. However thanks to local bike shop Favatas Table Rock Tours & Bicycles in Rosendale, William's Lake will open this weekend only to host the 2012 William's Lake Classic Bike Race.
Featuring some pretty technical mountain biking trails (including a portion through a cave) the William's Lake Classic of Rosendale NY gives everyone a chance to ride! One lap is approximately 5 miles, with races ranging from 1 to 5 laps. There will be continuous races throughout the day, seperated by age, gender, and skill level. So if you're a beginner, have no fear and enjoy these beautiful trails with other beginners. If you're a pro, be ready for a challenge; as local mountain bikers from throughout Ulster County NY will turn out to once again ride the trails of William's Lake!
We featured Favata's Table Rock Tours & Bicycles in a post last year about Summer activities in Ulster County NY. Family owned and operated, the Favatas are true locals who really know the Ulster County area. Their shop sells bikes, gear, apparel, does repairs, and is conveniently located right on Main Street Rosendale NY. Their work on creating and promoting the William's Lake Classic is indicative of the strong sense of community that runs throughout the town of Rosendale NY.
