June in Anchorage, Alaska is known for long days. That means that flowers are blooming and it’s time for the annual Festival of Flowers in Downtown at Town Square Park. The event is Saturday, June 2 and the fun runs through the day.
It’s a fun day for the entire family. You can attend an informational seminar, purchase flowers for your own garden, bid in the auction or plant a marigold. There is also an art fair to enjoy, face painting for the kids and awe-inspiring stilt walkers who prove again and again that they are moving up in the world! Best of all, it’s all free!

Well, put on your armor and festive wear and join the Three Barons Renaissance Fair for enough medieval revelry to straighten the crinkles in your helmet! The Three Barons Fair site is located at Tozier Track, off of Tudor Road, between Lake Otis and Bragaw. It runs from June 2nd through the 10th.
What’s it all about? The Green, Blue and Red Barronys are vying for the fate of nations and the Hillshire citizens are hoping it all turns out well. Damsels will surely be in distress, Barons will undoubtedly be brandishing swords and drafting battle plans and knights in shining armor will perform incredible deeds of daring do.
