Gibbs gardens is a new Grand garden that has opened about 10 minutes from us in Big Canoe. Talk about dedication , it was 20 years in the making. It boasts the largest field of Dafs in the country.

Japanese Garden

The picture above is one of the many ponds and beautiful greenery that surrounds it. There are walking paths that take you through the 300 acre garden.

day lilies

This is a photo of the day lily garden. It stretches out for ever. And you can see it and walk on the cool grass. How do they keep this grass so nice????

Hydranga

This one of the lovely Hydrangas you will see in the acres of plants. One of the nice things about the garden is you are quite often in the shade as you walk through.

ponds

There are great specimen trees and walks through out the garden. There is a tram that will ride you through if you need assistance. But the walking is pretty good and not too hilly. Also one f the things we loved about the Gardens is that everything there was native or grown in gardens in the area. So you go to see what you could do without getting too exotic.

Gibbs is 300 acres and you must remember to have water to walk around with. It is a another reson to chill out year round in our North Georgia Mountains

The Gibb Gardens look beautiful.  Such a nice variety of trees.  Are there goldfish or koi in the pond?  Looks like a nice place to take a stroll.
