Since I moved to Tennessee over ten years ago, I've always loved the fact that I can drive under two hours and go skiing, ice skating, hike and camp in the Great Smoky Mountains, white water raft...the list continues. One of my favorite things to do is head to "OBER GATLINBURG" and go Skiing. I'm no expert mind you, I tend to fall on my bum a few times, crash into a stranger and sometimes end up skiing out of control down the mountain, but that is the thrill of it all. Crisp cool air in your face and lots of strong & hot latte's afterwards. I almost always make time to Ice skate as well as there is a large ice skating rink located at the Ober Gatlinburg mall. "If you can roller skate, you can ice skate"! (If you can't roller skate, just wear some extra padding)
There are 8 trails to ski or snowboard and they all wind down snowy mountain forest paths. If you have never slipped on the ski's before you can have an instructor teach you the basics and it can be just as much fun on the bunny sloops. Half the fun is the scenic chairlift ride to the resort and if you really want to become an expert you can go to skiing school. Ski and snowboard rentals are available so all you need to do is dress warm and prepare for the adrenalin. Once there it is almost impossible to avoid at least some of the hundreds of other attractions that the Great Smoky Mountains offer. See you there!

Since I can't roller skate does that doom me to not be able to ice skate?
