Facebook has a little known setting called "Use Facebook as...", which I'm noticing many agents are not taking advantage of.

If you comment, like, or interact on Facebook your profile is linked. When people want to learn more about you, chances are they end up on your "personal" profile rather than your "business page." This is because you are using Facebook as [Your Personal Profile], however, you can change this setting and get more people directed to your Business Page with one simple click. Here's how to do it:

 

Open the Admin Panel in your Business Page. Then select Manage. At the bottom you can select "Use Facebook as ...", select this.

 

 

Now, when you leave a comment your profile is linked to your Page and NOT your personal profile. This is an easy way to direct traffic to your Page and get more "likes".

Update 11/16: Facebook is intergrating a new PAGE interface so some of you might or might not see this new "voice" feature. It's simply an even easier way to switch to your Fan Page profile.

If you see the new "voice" interface, you'll notice "Manage" is no longer there. You can switch to your fan page profile either through Voice or by selecting Edit > "Use Facebook As..."

Hi Janine,

That's a great question. By using "Use Facebook As (your business page)" you'll prevent personal stuff getting on your Fan Page. A good routine is to log into facebook and immediately check your fan page. Once there, switch to USE FACEBOOK AS, then handle all your 'professional' social media and get that out of the way. When done, switch back to your personal profile and chat with your friends. This will prevent any overlap of content.
