6 Comments on A Transit of Venus
Evelyn - Thank you for the reminder. I would have missed this today, but I saw your blog. You made a difference today!
A friend of mine picked up glasses to view this tonight. Should be interesting!
We saw this on the news tonight but did not get to see it in person. Did you?
Took a few photographs from beginning until the sun went down. Fantastic feeling to see such a historical event that will not repeat itself for another 115 years. Here's one of the pictures:
Laura: What a nice thing to say. Thanks.
Lawrence: I tried to find glasses at the last minute. Had to settle for the pinhole viewing.
Joni: Yes, but barley. We were having difficulty making our pinhole so we could view the transit safely.
Ken: I can never figure out how to photograph these events. I have enough trouble making sure my eyes are protect. That is a gorgeous photo. Nice job.
Unless you have a telescope with a special filter, it can be very difficult to take a picture of the sun let alone pick out a dot the size of venus. At our party here in Verrado at one of the neighbors homes, we arranged our telescopes so that we ran a live feed to a wide screen TV providing those at the party with a comfortable environment for the viewing. Stay cool in CA. We're burning up here in AZ.
