Hope I did this right but here goes....
I was tagged by Tana Hunt to do a meme on myself. I am not sure of how to do this but here goes. She thought her meme was boring but I am sure mine is.
I was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts and lived in a beautiful section of East Boston so you can say I am a Bostonian. My parents were raised in Boston too. I was the first and then came my brother 3 years later and my sister Denise 5 more years later. All but my first 7 years I lived in the suburbs of Boston and the last 43 in Needham, MA. When I lived in the city of Boston I lived on the other side of Logan Airport. I could literally walk across the street to swim at Shay's Beach everyday in the summer months. It was great. I don't know if anyone would be able to swim there now. My parents decided they didn't like the noise from the planes landing at Logan Airport so we moved to Stoneham, MA. There were times when it seemed the planes were landing on our roof. I really liked living there though because there was a drug store next door and they had an ice cream counter. I remember getting an ice cream for 5 cents. On 2nd thought it might be a good thing I got away from the ice cream.
So we moved to the burbs. My mother continued to go to Open Houses on many a Sunday afternoon for something to do. That might have something to do with me being in real estate. Later I married a man whose mom was a real estate agent on top of my mother's compulsion to go to open houses.

During my senior year high school in 1965 my dad died and that was really devastating. The consolation was that he wasn't suffering any more. Soon after I graduated my mother met a man at a summer cottage who had just lost his wife and they fell in love. It gets complicated from here. His first wife was the sister-in-law of my cousin Dolly and that made her the aunt of all my step-brothers and step-sisters. They married that September and we were now a family of 14. We were cheaper by the dozen. Of those 12 children I was the oldest at home. So my mother would leave on trips and I was the one who have to cook for the 7 of us teens. I loved my step-brothers and step-sisters from the get-go. We did real well getting along but we were all grieving for our parents. My step-dad was very nice and good to us. I was communicating to college in Boston and coming home to this large family. My step-sister Elaine has published a book recently "Mom's the Word, Silent No More." She is really a hot ticket. We have great relationships.
In 1966 I met my husband-to-be at my friend's birthday party.
He was a childhood friend of one of my step-brothers coincidently. We dated for 2 years and were married. He is the best guy. I am so blessed to be married to this guy. He puts up with me. He has seen me with black hair, brown hair, red hair, & platinum blonde. I have been thin and fat. When I say fat I mean I lost 135 lbs in 1976 and actually kept it off for 5 straight years. Somehow I found a good deal of the weight again and I have been struggling ever since to take it off. Everytime stress would come into my life I would pack on the pounds. We are about to celebrate our 40th anniversary and I am blessed.
We waited 5 years and had our precious son Christopher. We are so proud of him and what he has accomplished. He is married with incredible 3 children. Almost 6 years ago Chris was diagnosed with leukemia (CML) and thank God he was able to have successful bone marrow transplant. He had another set back but is doing really fine and able to do triathlons (the swimming and biking part). It was definitely the toughest time in my life. When he was diagnosed he had 2 children and miraculously the conceived another child who was born one day short of a year after his transplant. We believe Liam helped Chris recover.
We love to go to Disney World and make it almost yearly and take Chris and his family with us. It is a time of celebration whenever we go but especially after he had recovered. Every time I go to visit someone in a hospital, park in a garage, and go in an elevator I am so grateful that I am not visiting Chris in a hospital. I spent many hours in the hospital with him and the other time watching my grandchildren. We all believe in miracles now. Chris is most definitely a miracle.

We also love Maine. In fact, we are all Mainiacs. Here is a picture of us at the Pemaquid Lighthouse. My mom's father's family was from York, Maine which I also love so much.
So fast forward here I am back to real estate since August of 2005 after a long sebatical. I was licensed in 1979 and worked successfully for 3 years. Then I took my leave when the interest rates hit 18.5%. I was young and didn't know about yet about the cycles of real estate. I did start a very successful business and I still enjoy that. It is almost like a hobby for me now. I am enjoying my return to real estate and I love all the technology. It is fun. I also know that things are going to turn around for sure.
I have meme'd Kay Perry, Doreen McPherson, and Debbie Malone
