Home Values

Yes, that's right, the first quarter National Home Values Survey produced by HomeGain tells us that 37% of real estate pros just like those in Glenview are now expecting to see home values going up. This expectation is itself up 15% from the previous quarter.

However, 22 percent of real estate pros are expecting to see a decrease in home values, down from 42% during the last quarter. The other 41% of real estate pros are expecting values to stay at their current rates for the next six months.

What are the homeowners themselves expecting to happen to their homes' values? 25% feel just like the real estate pros; they expect them to increase. This feeling is up 15% from the last quarter. 29% are expecting decreased values, down from 37% last quarter, and 46% expect values to linger where they are for another six months.

How do those trying to sell their homes feel about the price their real estate agent has recommended that they ask for their homes? Well, 77% of them believe that their homes are actually worth more than the listing price.

On the other end of the buying scale, 62% of home buyers believe that the homes they are seeing listed are overpriced.

We hope the Realtors® are right, both in their expectations and their current pricing recommendations. Since they have access to many tools to help them with value and pricing, their expectations are based on more than just a guess.
