We just spent the day preparing for and hosting an inspection. Again!
We underwent the process in February when the inspector insisted that the house had to have the galvanized pipes and electric panel box replaced.
We were not in the mood to replace things that were still serviceable so the transaction fell apart.
Another aspect of that transaction was that the agents husband was a contractor who was planning a major renovation for whatever that client bought.
We felt that whole thing was a huge conflict of interest. In fact, we still do!
The latest offer is a great deal less than the first and we are getting to pack and possibly move in miserable heat.
We do not know what this inspection report brought to light. We do know that the buyer seems to like the house.
Our immediate future is in the hands of that inspector. It feels really odd to be on this side of the transaction.
The option period is for several more days. Eventually we will know whether to continue to pack.
